Grouping corresponding parts in vision and audition usingperceptual grouping among different sensations

摘要

In sensor fusion, output from various sensors is fused to obtainbetter information. In those systems, it is implicitly assumed thatoutput from various sensors has originated from the same object.However, if sensors are mounted on a system without intension, theassumption is not feasible. In many sensor fusion systems, designers setup sensors to obtain output originated from the same object. In thepresent paper, in order to automatically find relationship amongsensors, we propose laws for perceptual organization among differentsensations referring to the laws for organization in one sensation inthe Gestalt psychology. Then the foundation of the laws is examined insimple experiments. The experimental system consists of vision andaudition. It extracts corresponding parts of the two sensation referringto changes of output from each sensation
