Two Dimensional Finite Element Numerical Analysis Of Estuary Tides Tidal Current and Sediment Movement Process

Based on the established and verified Yellow River estuary and ocean two dimensional finite element numerical model, tides and tidal current flow are numeric simulated, from the calculation results, the typical and enough tidal current vectors charts, velocity contour, tidal level distribution diagrams, sediment diffusion transport, sediment deposition and seabed deformation,change of coastlines are given. These diagrams indicate that the flow is coastwise and there are two flood and ebb tides in a day and night in this the Yellow River channel estuary and the Laizhou gulf region. The simulated results also make known that in this region the tide and tidal current features show great variations greatly during a day resulting from the half-closed Bohai Sea coastlines and the wave from the East China Sea. These results are also good agreement with the field data, satellite remote-sensing data and their analysis. These show that these laws could be disclosed by the numerical simulation method based on the sea-dynamic two dimensional finite element mathematical model.
