Traditional reservoir dispatch, whose object is to make the mount of generation the maximal, is no longer suitable in the mode of electric power market. In the environment of market, it does not mean that the benefit is the maximal when the amount of generation is the most. This paper proposed a hydropower plant dispatch model based on the rule of making the benefit the maximal, and made analysis on the benefit function of hydropower plant based on this model. Practical example shows that this model not only can make the hydro-power station gain the biggest economic benefit, but also, under the condition of casting water which can be exempted from being abandoned, the out force of is lower than the rating capacity when the solution of the model is optimal. This is good for the regulating the peak load.
