摘要

Wisconsin agencies responsible for managing solid waste assumed, based on the number of electronics coming into the state over the past 20 years, that there was a large, latent waste stream of end-of-life (EOL) electronics. This paper discusses an on-going study to assess the current state infrastructure (private and public) and capacity to manage EOL electronic wastes, primarily computers (+peripherals) and TVs. Baseline information will make it possible to estimate the magnitude of EOL wastes, where wastes are currently going and the current state, public and private infrastructure capacity. A potential outcome of this information is effective state waste management policy.
