Therapeutic Effects of Integrative Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine for SARS

Objectives To improve therapeutic effects of SARS and search for the clinical significance of the treatment by integrative Traditional Chinese Medicine TCM and Western Medicine. Methods Clinical study with 135 cases involved by random, control and multi - centre. The cases were classified into two groups, one for basic treatment by Western medicine, another one for combination treatment. The course was more than 2 weeks. The effects on relieving fever, cell - mediated immunity, pulmonary infiltrates, succeeded infection were compared. Result The therapy group showed better effects than the control group in steadly lowering body temperature, improving lymphopenia, accelerating pulmonary infiltrates absorption.
