Using regression analysis to fit Eq. (7) to the data in Fig. 5 (beyond the initial peak), values G_c = 72, 110, and 132 J/m~2 were obtained for rates 30, 90, and 150 mm/min, respectively. Other experiments were carried out for a greater separation distance, c = 10.6 cm, with c/L = 0.9, and for both values of c with c/L = 0.8 (i.e., more slackness). The peel force tended to increase as c increased (for the same value of c/L) and as the slackness decreased (for the same value of c). In addition, some experiments were conducted with a force angle of 180° and the resulting peel force was lower than for a force angle of 90° These trends are consistent with those predicted by the analysis.
