This paper presents a method for the effective evaluation of harmonic currents produced by multiple AC/DC static power converters. The calculation of harmonics is carried out using switching functions and the model takes into account interactions between converters. To calculate the amplitude of the resulting harmonic currents injected in the AC network, an optimization method proceeds through a few iterations until the AC side voltage harmonics converge. Simulation results show close agreement with EMTP. This work can be used to size filters and apparatus in power distributing systems. In fact, it is useful for any applications that needs fast harmonic estimation at steady state.
