Health risk analysis: Some directions of RD and practical use in Russia

In the 90s needs in practical use of risk analysis in Russia began to rise. To meet these needs the development of risk assessment tools and regulation began in the frame of few federal research programs. Some directions and results of this activity are described. They are: health risk assessment tool, recommendations on economic risk analysis parameters and optimisation, regulatory aspects of use of risk analysis in decision making, practical use of probability of causation concept for decision making on causation links between irradiation and cancer disease or death and compensation etc. The proposals on standardised risk indices, the specific risk index for establishing the universal safety standards and decision risk levels, their respective quantitative values for personnel and population are presented.
