This paper presents a vehicle pull analysis procedure that was actually involved in the development process of a new car. The vehicle pull tendency analysis was done with a vehicle model using a multibody dynamics analysis software, known as ADAMS (Automated Dynamic Analysis of Mechanical Systems). With a design specification of a car suspension system recommended by a test engineering grou for ride and handling purposes, pull tendency of a car due to road crown and tire residual aligning torque was first studied. Then, the sensitivity analysis of a car on vehicle pull to the front wheel geometry was done. Especially, sensitivity due to kingpin offset and caster angle was analyzed. From the results of analyses, the desirable range of RAT value of tires was recommended.
