Dry bottom ash removal is the new accepted technology used inutility boilers burning solid fuels. The technique is spreading very quickly in the field of coal ash handling equipment since it is "clean" and reliable. The paper describes a specific dry bottom ash removal system which operates by means of a stainless steel belt conveyor to extract the ash, while a counter-current flwo fo fresh air is used to accomplish ash cooling.
