The possibilities of an accurate design of stirrers with analytical calculations are oftne very insufficient, due to the complex effects of the fluid medium on the structure (stirrer) cannot be readily defined [Pascek (1974)]. Using numerical simulation of fluid dynamics combined with the finite-element-method a modal analysis solution can be shown, that considers fluid-solid-interactions. The result is a more detailed, accurate and low-cost eigen-frequency (critical revolution) determination of stirrers, because both the influence of water damping and the influence of turbulence (fluid forces) can now be calculated.
