The flow in the near-field of thigh Damkohler number,exothermix=c planar jets is analyzed using high-resolution two-dimensional simulaitons.THe focus fo the nalayiss is the experimentally observed,and yet unexplainined,tendency of th flame to locat4e itself outside the region of vortical structures and to experimence minimum ocnvolution by them.The Lagrangian transprot element mehtod is used to resove the unsteady and unaveraged post-transitional flowl.The reacting field is represented by an infinite reaciton rate model based on the Schvab-Zeldovich formulation.
