Testing Current Differential Relay Systems with Satellite Synchronized Tests

The traditional method of testing HCB relay systems on metallic wires consisted of using load current and test switches to carry out the sequence of tests in the Westinghouse instruction book and taking readings of remote and local currents at both ends. These tests basically simulated normal through flow, checked the negative sequence values, simulated internal and external ground fault and a weak feed ground trip from each end.
