Abstract: This paper describes the design and implementation of a pulse position coding module which constitutes one of several building blocks in the chain of an ISDN-to-IR transmission interface. This interface provides the suitable adaptation of ISDN (basic access rate) to the IR link requirements. The development of such an interface stems from the requirements of factory and office communications using wireless terminals based on diffuse IR radiation, along with the utilization of the inherent capabilities of ISDN. !5
