The possibility to form bipolar pulses with a duration of 1 and 2 ns and an amplitude of up to 80 kV at a load of 12.5 Ohm using a single spark gap is shown. Simulation has shown, that the parasitic capacitance of the voltage supply to the forming lines can distort the second half-wave of the bipolar pulse. The influence of the parasitic capacitance was eliminated by placing the supply node in close proximity to the spark gap.
