We have developed a new cell source to potentially expand the autologous cell therapy options for PAD patients, using iPSC technology. We have also pioneered the development of a novel citrate-based biomaterial PPCN that upon contact with tissue undergoes a phase change due to the body's physiologic temperature to become a soft elastic gel that can function as an antioxidant scaffold to support tissue regeneration. Our study will be a critical advancement in regenerative engineering targeted at patients afflicted with severe limb ischemia due to PAD.
