Air compressors are classified according to their working principles and number of stages. This paper presents the effect of motor speed on isothermal efficiency of a two-stage compressor. Experiment was performed at four different motor speeds (750, 1000, 1250 and 1500 rpm) and experimental data were analyzed by using relevant fundamental equations to determine performance of compressor under study. The results show that the increase in motor speed mentioned above during air compression process increase Isothermal output power by 27%, 37% and 19% respectively. It was also noticed that the increase in motor speed reduces Isothermal efficiency by 3%, 8.4% and 0.37% respectively. The highest efficiency was obtained at lower speed (750 rpm) and was reported to be 45.37%. The compressor is under performing as the efficiency is below 50%.
