IoT technology has made our lives connected, integrating this technology in various domains, especially the Smart Cities domain. An important infrastructure is expecting cities to come under pressure due to accelerated urbanization. Our article aims to present a study on the different IoT technologies, the fields of application of these technologies, and the role of IoT in Smart Cities. By studying several works, this study led us to propose our architecture based on a new paradigm using Fog Computing which ensures real-time analysis. Our architecture allows to reduce the communication load between Fog Nodes and sensors by distributing heavy data directly to the Cloud, and data read to the Fog that must be analyzed in real time.
