In this study, we were able to use PLGA coatings of different concentrations on trabecular allografts to alter the release profiles of surface-adsorbed VEGF. Controlling the payload and kinetics of growth factors is an important parameter when developing such tissue regeneration tools. These PLGA coatings have the potential to accommodate dual- or multi-factor delivery as well, which can improve the extent and rate of new bone formation.
