PPP37+Pac nanofiber yarns were successfully fabricated using electrospinning technique with a high paclitaxel loading efficiency. The resulting sustained release profile and anti-proliferative efficacy of released paclitaxel from fibers demonstrate the promise for use in vascular anastomosis applications. Currently, we are investigating the combination of both paclitaxel loaded and heparin-immobilized yarns to combat both thrombosis and stenosis following an anastomosis procedure.
