These results suggest that the application of TA as a therapeutic agent is not limited to breast cancer only but also extends to melanoma. However, the ability of TA to preferentially target cancer cells is a function of the stiffness of the underlying matrix. Finally, electrochemical compaction can be used for the development of collagen-based tissue-engineered models for the investigation of the effects of ECM properties on melanoma and other cancers.
