摘要

Urbanization of the rural areas increases the residential area load demand of the globe. Again, integration of intermittent renewable energy generations and volatile habits of the domestic users make the household demand profile as unpredictable in nature. Therefore, control of the residential loads is highly required to manage the increasing demand efficiently and also to match the load variability with the available generation to get lowest electricity cost. Advancement in communication technology enables the chance of application of demand response (DR) strategies in the modern smart grid era. DR programs aims to diminish the overall peak consumption of the domestic customers while meeting the power balance constraint at each time interval. This study presents an overview of the articles dealing with the application of demand response analysis in the residential areas.
