In this communication, a rectangular DRA coupled through rectangular slots and exited through an edge feed rectangular patch is proposed. Rectangular shape of DRA is simple in structure and resonate at TEm mode. It covers C band uplink and downlink frequencies (3.8 to 4.5 GHz and 5.9 to 6.39 GHz). This proposed structure is designed using computer simulator Ansoft HFSS. The antenna covers (<;-10 dB) bandwidth of about 70 % and 98% for C band receive and transmit band respectively. The maximum gain of 4.5 dB is obtained at 5.7 GHz. The design provides attractive radiation efficiency, high gain and enhanced bandwidth that is acceptable for C band applications for satellite communication and Radar.
