Internet of things (IoT) comprises is the system of physical devices, machines and different devices inserted with electronics, programming, sensors, Actuators, and interconnectivity that have unique identities and are connected to the internet. Traditionally the productivity of CNC was confined to the counts of the products produced. In Industrial Internet of Things the productivity can be measured with the help of predictive and prescriptive maintenance. This paper is focused on study of productivity using IoT platforms. A feasibility analysis was carried out with and without using a software platform designed to make manufacturing efficient and cost effective. Various factors affecting the productivity of CNC were explored. The predictive breakdowns during the manufacturing were calculated. Analysis was carried out to check for differences in Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) in traditional CNC and IoT enabled CNC. Finally it is observed that the OEE was increased for the CNC from 59.9% to 78.59%.
