“Every human life is precious”, our entire project is based on this fundamental. Over the last few decades people have developed machines that can do jobs that are risky and dangerous for us. Likewise, in a hostile environment such as a warzone, fire scene, nuclear exclusion zone etc. robots are often deployed. Our interest in electronics and fascination with robotics led us to take up this project. Our goal is to design an economical robot that can be mass produced and be used extensively by different organizations at all levels. It is unique because it has a solar panel attached to it. The robot can utilize the solar energy generated by it. Our robot is RF controlled. We chose RF because of its better range and ability to penetrate dense obstacles. The robot has a mechanical arm in the front with which it could pick up articles. It is also fitted with different sensors that will relay parameters such as temperature, humidity, poisonous gases, presence of land mines etc. To the user on their handheld remote. Since we designed this robot keeping a war zone in mind, we have also planted a rotating gun on top (by servo motor). On top of the gun is an ultrasonic sensor, which on detecting any hostile movement in front of it will trigger the gun to fire. The entire circuitry is mounted on a wooden platform and underneath it are four wheels. Only the two rear wheels are powered with 12V DC motors.
