Conclusions: These studies suggests while culturing hASCs in the presence of endothelial differentiation factor (VEGF) supports their differentiation along the endothelial lineage, our 3D spheroid model augments this differentiation. Our data also suggests that increasing VEGF may further enhance hASC differentiation along the endothelial lineage in 3D spheroids. Future studies will explore ways to achieve neo-angiogenesis and sprouting of vessels in our culture systems.
