A swellable drug-eluting ureteral stent for the treatment of urological diseases

Conclusions: A swellable drug-eluting stent prototype was successfully fabricated in the lab, with sustained and tunable drug release. PEGDA hydrogel mediated the localized drug delivery to porcine ureteric tissues ex-vivo. Future work will involve the study on the safety and efficacy of the medical device in porcine model.
