Summary - The iron oxide powder was synthesized successfully by the method of precipitation to room temperature. The product obtained was subjected to heat treatments appropriate to three temperatures 200,500,900 °C then it was dispersed in the mixture of epoxy coating diluted by acetone. The objective of this work is to study the effect of the calcinations temperature of the iron oxide powder dispersed in the epoxy coating, on the anti-corrosive behavior of steel. The anti-corrosive performance evaluation was carried out during 60 days of immersion in the solution NaCl 3,5% with the method electrochemical spectroscopy of impedance (SEE). The morphology and the structure of the iron oxide powder synthesized were characterized by the following techniques: MEB, DRX, RAMAN. The incorporation of iron oxide in the epoxy deposit improved the barrier effect opposite the diffusion of the molecules of water, oxygen and chlorides. The built-in epoxy coating of iron oxide grain at calcinations temperature 500 °C, presents a greater corrosion resistance and a better barrier effect recorded after 1152 hours of immersion in the solution of NaCl 3,5%.
