摘要

The scientific communication has a primary role to promote progress in research. However, despite the capillarity of the network, the libraries of the institutions can't support the high costs of scientific magazines. The result is that the dissemination is only for those who can pay the publications. Similarly, all of the potential recipients will have access only to a part of the material of interest to them. The OAI - Open Archive Initiative - was bom to maintain high the attention on this aspect and to encourage scientists, researches and scholars to disseminate their research works, making them freely accessible. An Open Access derivation is the Open Data which are regulated by INSPIRE Directive. The implementation of the EU directive allows to share large amounts of space data (already produced or updated by public authorities as part of their institutional activities), constituting a single infrastructure at European level. An example of how we can make growing the research through sharing is represented, in the international framework, by Copernicus. It is the new name for the Global Monitoring for Environment and Security programme, previously known as GMES. The Space Component is managed by ESA and serves users with satellite data available through the Sentinels and the Copernicus Contributing Missions at national, European and international levels. Another example, in the national framework, is the initiative of Italian Space Agency which promoted the use of COSMO-SkyMed Mission data, through notices: "Open Call for Science" and "Open Call for Small and Medium Enterprises, Start-up/Spin-off. The Call will make available and free data of the CSK Constellation. The aim is to encourage the growth of scientific and entrepreneurial skills in the field of the satellite data exploitation. This paper will analyse the response trend in this type of "call for free", trying to understand how sharing data contributes to facilitate the efficient dissemination of research.
