The proposed paper is about the loading and geometry effects that are involved in the noise of counter-rotating open rotors because of the advanced design of the blades. An experimental work is conducted in order to investigate those effects on an isolated swept airfoil with a free tip in an anechoic open-jet wind tunnel. The experimental setup and the first results are presented, highlighting in particular the effect of the angle of attack on the self-noise and the turbulence-interaction noise of the airfoil. Finally, a preliminary analytical prediction using Amiet's model and introducing the effect of the sweep angle of the blade is compared favorably with the measurements.
