Orthogonal meters with digital signal processing provide optimal estimates of the amplitude and phase of harmonic signals for measurements in noise. They are used as separate measurement tools and as a component of measurement systems. Well-developed methods of spectral measurement based on the discrete Fourier transform of signals may be applied to determine parameters of orthogonal meters upon their metrological characteristics. Required characteristics of orthogonal gauges shall be obtained upon implementable parameters of the device. The paper presents solutions that provide requirements in accuracy, dynamic and frequency range due to the prior analog and digital signal filtering. The filter parameters selection conditions and implementation characteristics optimization goals are shown. The results are tested through computer modeling and implementation.
