Study on status of voluntary carbon disclosure of China's listed companies: Based on Carbon Disclosure Project China reports

摘要

With the rapid growth of population and economics, environmental problems have become the key factor that apparently affects China's sustainable development. Under the pressure from administrative and market measures, more and more companies begin to disclose information on climate change. As a global not-for-profit organization that owns the biggest and most comprehensive collection of primary companies' climate change information all over the world, Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) is gradually accepted worldwide as a voluntary carbon disclosure system. In this paper, we conduct our research on CDP China reports from 2008 to 2014, trying to figure out the status of voluntary carbon disclosure of China's listed companies, and make our suggestions to business management and policy makers.
