1. Mapping systems are critical to supporting management decisions through the transition to distributed solar energy 2. Mapdwell online solar energy mapping products are exceptional. There is a need to develop tools that go beyond informing home-owners 3. We have developed an automated model to identify 'suitable' rooftops for solar development. In Philadelphia, rooftop PV potential greatly exceeds assumptions and policy targets (but not sufficient to cover total electricity needs) 4. Future work will integrate this model with techno-economic and power flow models.
