In this paper we explore if the applications with scaled user demands, such as the number of HTTP transactions achieve proportionally scaled performance. In addition, we explore which configuration is most convenient and achieves the best performance as a final conclusion about performances when applying the scaling of resources or demands. The experiments are performed for an e-Business solution hosted as a SaaS application on Windows Azure. Finding an optimal cloud infrastructure is not a trivial problem, since there are a lot of possibilities to organize multiple virtual machines in a cloud. The results obtained from the experiments show that the optimal configuration is based on use of a lower number of bigger VMs. In addition to this, the number of operations has an impact on the performance proportionally.
