Consideration for End Shape of a Pile for Prebored Pile Construction Method

In the cement milk pile construction method, precast concrete pile orsteel pipe pile is used, and the pile ends have a circular opening. Inthis paper, we described laboratory experiments for a static axialcompressive load test of single pile. The objective of the tests is tomake clear the characteristics of the vertical end bearing capacity ofthe pile with an opening in the pile tip. We discuss the relationship ofthe bearing capacity with the tip shape, and propose a more suitableshape of the pile end for the cement milk method. Subsequently, wetry to confirm the validity of the improved pile tip by actual size loadexperiments.
