Discussion on rock slope management in Scotland

It is important that rock slope assets are carefully managed so as to ensure safety, serviceability and to reduce costs. To support this ongoing effort in Scotland and internationally, the advantages and disadvantages of two rock slope rating and classification systems, the Rock Slope Hazard Index, RSHI and Colorado Rockfall Hazard Rating System (CRHRS) are discussed and compared. Current issues with rock slope management in Scotland are identified along with suggestions for improvement.
