摘要

Learned people are considered as the knowledge society and higher educational institutions are the knowledge hub. Academic sector have significant opportunities to apply Knowledge Management practices to support their ICT based education, research and also the nation in achieving the set objectives. With the economic liberalisation of Indian economic, the status of ICT education has grown and transformed itself according to the need of the students’ community. The economic liberalisation of the economy has also resulted in the growth of number of private higher educational institutions in India. Increase in private educational institution has also had increased competitions among the institution to excel and offer valuable education. Being the pioneers in knowledge management for the generation and dissemination of knowledge, higher educational institutions have the huge potential and scope for establishing their own knowledge management system, that in turn support them in provision of quality education to their stakeholders. This study aims to analyse impact of knowledge management capabilities on performance of higher educational institutions. The study focuses on higher education institutions functioning in Coimbatore district.
