The Slovenian Centre of Excellence for Space Sciences and Technologies (Space-SI) has developed and implemented a fully automatic image processing chain that performs all processing steps from sensor-corrected (Level 1) optical satellite images to web-delivered map-ready images and products. The chain includes: a module for automatic image orthorectification based on a physical sensor model and supported by an algorithm for automatic extraction of ground control points;a module for automatic radiometric corrections that is implemented on the basis of an anisotropic illumination model;and modules for generation of low level products (vegetation index NDVI, changes of NDVI, and change detection). The chain was originally developed for RapidEye images;currently support to other sensors (WorldView-2, SPOT 6, Pleiades, THEOS, Space-SI satellite system) is being implemented.
