The integration of SOFC into stationary and mobile applications needs specific adaptations in the system operation. Taking into account the long warm-up phase and the limited flexibility to follow the load.The applied model simulations provide an insight into the control behaviour of the SOFC hybrid system. Using simulations the otherwise protracted and risky operation tests can be reduced.Within a three year project in cooperation with a SOFC - manufacturer the power electronics was defined and tested as part of the hybrid system. Thereby the focus lies onto the stable operation on reduction of the degradation effects on SOFC and the coupled batteries.Now the system operates in long term tests in a stationary application and in a mobile demonstration system based on a golf caddy.
