The long-term cycle operation has been much more important recently as overhaul duration increases. This study presents an investigation of the fuel cycle extension from 18 month to 24 month for OPR1000 PWR. The 24 month cycle has been developed with 3 operation strategy. The 24 month cycle core for each operation strategy has been compared in view of spent fuel storage pool change, nuclear characteristics and economics. From the result, 89 feed assemblies with U~(235) 4.95 w/o gives the best result considering the plants operation, safety, and economics even though 24 month cycle core can be accomplished by the various strategy.
