The national road network from the North-East zone of Romania, respectively Moldavia, is over 3500 km as total length, with more than 800 bridges and culverts, 156 km of retaining walls, 100 km drainage works and 290 km embankment consolidations. As geographic location, the network is spread mostly in the Moldavian Central Plateau and respectively in the mountains Eastern Carpathians. The authors emphasize the main characteristics of the road network from the North-east of Romania, together with the site specific features from the geographical, hydrological and geotechnical viewpoint that favored the occurrence of some landslides, which consequently induced numerous degradations of the road-mat, respectively embankments. Thus, the main phenomena respectively causes for the landslides on the national road network from the North-Eastern zone, the impact of these landslides on the road network as well as on the traffic are presented. At the same time, the rehabilitation solutions of these roads, respectively of traffic reintegration together with the time-effectiveness of these solutions are indicated as well.
