Numerical and analytical analysis of road stabilizing pile retaining walls

This study presents a case history used to evaluate the performance of slope stabilizing pile retaining walls. Three dimensional finite element analysis and conventional analytical analysis were performed to investigate behaviour of piles under lateral loads caused by slope movements. The aim of this paper is to give an insight about the response of piles under various factors. Effects of pile configuration and pile spacing were investigated to evaluate performance of the pile to prevent soil movements.
