'PPP' R1 Nitra - Tekovske Nemce and Banska Bystrica - Northern Bypass From the View of Independent Engineer

The construction of the R1 Expressway in sections Nitra, West - Selenec - Beladice - Tekovske Nemce and the relocation of the I/66 (R1) Expressway in the route of the northern bypass of Banska Bystrica was executed through a public-private partnership project (PPP in short) for concession for design, construction, financing, operation, and maintenance of R1 Expressway's sections Nitra - Tekovske Nemce and Banska Bystrica - Northern Bypass. In their submission, the authors focus on acquired knowledge and experience from the "Independent Engineer's" point of view on solving the emerged issues of not only the geotechnical nature of the first PPP project of the road infrastructure execution in the Slovak Republic within the specific framework of the Concession Agreement and its finance model in the construction phase.
