To analyze the features of information processing in a man-machine-environment system of quayside crane loading/unloading, a model is established and analyzed. First, a meta-operation of loading/unloading is defined, which specifies the beginning and the ending of a cycle loading or unloading a container. Then, according to the controlling operating of each step in a meta-operation, an event sequence diagram (ESD) model is built to describe information processing as the operator is regarded as an information processor. Then, a Gantt chart is drawn with the independent events of ESD model as abscissa and the input information and the output response operations as ordinate. Then, the features of input information and output response are analyzed separately.
