Bioinformatics Prediction of the Tertiary Structure for the Emy162 Antigen of Echinococcus multilocularis

We wanted to determine the dominant epitopes of the Emy162 antigen, the secondary and the tertiary structure for the Emy162 antigen found in Echinococcus multilocularis. To do so, we analyzed the secondary structure and the tertiary structure of Emy162 protein. We used online software called Phyre2 Server to predict the secondary structure and 3DLigandsite for the tertiary structure of Emy162 protein. From the server we found that the random coil and the β-sheet accounted for approximately 40 % of secondary structure. After the bioinformatics analysis, the secondary and tertiary structures provided us important information for developing a vaccine using the dominant epitopes. This was an indication that it works as a potent dominant antigenic epitopes in Emy162 anatigen.
