Conclusions: We compared PCL and PCL/β-TCP membranes with collagen membranes, the most widely used GBR membrane, and discovered the potential of PCL/β-TCP membranes as a GBR membrane by examining, in vitro and in vivo, that PCL/β-TCP membranes have more effective on biocompatibility and bone regeneration with collagen membranes. Particularly, considering that GBR is always applied to a wet environment (with blood, saliva, etc.), we performed a tensile testing under similar conditions and revealed that PCL/β-TCP membranes more stably maintained their form in a wet setting than collagen membranes, confirming its appropriateness as a GBR membrane.
