Efficient reservation of chargers for electric vehicles

Recently, Electric Vehicle (EV) is considered as an important technology; however, there are some problems for spreading EVs. One of these problems is that charging the battery of an EV needs a longer time than refueling of gasoline vehicles. To overcome these problems, for example, some local governments in Japan started projects in which restaurants and shops rent outlets for charging EV of their customers during eating or shopping. On the other hand, other local government in Japan has developed a system to reserve chargers by sharing information on usage of chargers. In this paper, we consider the above service to rent outlets during eating or shopping, and discuss how methods to reserve chargers affect the waiting time for charging EVs.
