Geometric statistics for old ice floes and ridge keels have been extracted from the 2000a Submarine Cruise data for the Arctic Ocean. The data cover a track length of approximately 5000 km from the Chukchi Sea to the Beaufort Sea and then north past the pole. This paper provides a description of the methodology utilized to extract ice statistics from the Upward Looking Sonar (ULS) data, provides examples of the resulting statistics for an area of the Beaufort Sea, and provides a limited comparison of the ice statistics between six different areas of the submarine transect. The lone multi-year hummock field found in the data is also presented.
