Wind energy is increasingly attracting the world's attention because of it is a renewable energy cleanly and inexhaustibly. How to improve the stability and efficiency of the wind power conversion system is particularly important. A maximum power point tracking algorithm is proposed based on the experiment data: the open-jet & return-flow wind tunnel is used to simulate the natural wind and the curve of the optimal rotate speed versus the optimal power has been calculated. The rotate speed of wind turbine can be controlled according to the curve and the goal of real-time controlling the output power has been achieved consequently. The analytical procedure by using proposed algorithm can be well applied to the vertical axis wind turbines, and the stability and the efficiency of the wind power conversion system have been increased effectively.
