In this paper, the modeling and control of the DC sub-grid, fed from Solar panels and integrated into the grid using dual active bridge (DAB) converters, is studied. The dynamic performance of the DAB converter depends on accurate modeling of the system. A small signal (SS) modeling of DAB converter is developed for the closed loop control and its dynamics are studied for different operating conditions. The simulation results of the proposed system are compared and it is found that the proposed system gives better dynamical response as compared to classical control system. An AC-DC hybrid micro-grid structure is modeled and its performance is studied. The performance of the dynamic system is simulated and the complete control algorithm is implemented in the laboratory.
